  • Enhacement of Archos remote control interface for jukebox devices w/o internal pull-up resistor (e.g. Recorder)
  • EMC compliance to prevent interferences from/to car power network
  • Heat sink now with 12K/W
  • Pad area for user specific peripheral circuits added
  • Part placement:
V1.3
(on-going)
  • Reed-Relay replaced by Dual-In-Line-Relay
  • EMC circuit adapted to performed tests
  • Adaption for remote add-on board for none Archos players (J4, 3,2mm hole)
  • Modified over voltage protection circuit for Archos
  • Part placement:
  • HW documentation (schematic, PCB data, part lists) you'll find in the download area

SW History:

R1.0
05.03.2004
  • First principle protocol implementation
R2.0
(14.03.2004)
  • Optimised initialisation while power-on
  • Optimised timing
  • Reading of HU keys
  • R2.1
    (20.03.2004)
    • Complete protocol implementation
    • Optimisation for target controller
    • RAM/ROM ressources optimisation
    • Archos remote control
    • Debug interface via RS232
    • Further optimised initialisation while power-on
    • More fault free recognition of HU keys
    • HU key press is now displayed with a short blink of 'Track 01'
    R2.2
    (25.07.2004)
    • All 6 Archos functions are now additionally available on CD1-6 keys (VW) and 1-6 (Audi)
    • Evaluation of CDC Power Control signal during power on and off
    • Bugfix: Archos player was not powering up correctly, due to wrong pin initialisation.
    • Several bugfixes for versions without Archos remote control
    • Full simulation of time display from 00:00 to 59:59
    • Only MCD: The CD number is now toggling between ':' and 'blank' to show availability of the CDC signal
    • Improvement in radio initialisation, so VW MFD is now working too with the CDC simulator
    • Changing mode from CDC to radio (or pressing MUTE) is now switching the Archos player to pause mode.

    • Changing back mode from radio to CDC (or pressing MUTE again) makes the Player continuing to play.
In parallel Pin9 is supported (details please see Comment according to Archos Power Control during pause).
    • Different kyboard layouts for MCD, MFD and Audi radios
    • Adaption for Audi Concert II radio
    R2.3
    (20.10.2005)
    • New implementations:
      • VW Beta V, Gamma V radios
      • VW BetaIV, Gamma IV radio
      • VW New Beetle radio
      • VW RN-S2 navigation system
      • VW RCD300 radio
      • Audi Navi Plus navigation system
      • Audi Chorus II radio
      • Audi Concert I radio
      • Audi Symphony I radio
      • Skoda Symphony radio
      • Seat Aura V3 radio
      • "Stand-Alone" version (later renamed to "CDC-Emu Car-PC")
    • More stable recognition of radio key presses
    • Only VW radios: SCAN key is now evaluated and plays each song for 10s until key is pressed again
    • Only Audi radios: Re-initialisation of the radio after communication fault.
    • Adaption to changed initialisation procedure of newer VAG radios and navigation systems.
    • Further RAM/ROM ressources optimisation.
    • SW version can now be read out via serial interface.
    • Optimised key layouts for operation with multi-functional steering wheel (steering wheel remote), for:
      • VW Beta V, Gamma V radios
      • VW MCD navigation system
      • Audi Navi Plus navigation system
    • Changed feedback to radio in case CDC mode is exited (more stable "log-out" out of CDC mode).
    • Only "Car-PC" version (since R2.3.12): It's now possible to modify the radio display (CD#, track#, min., sec.) via serial commands to the CDC-Emu.
    • More stable behaviour while changing between CDC mode and radio mode.
    • SymphonyII: "Hang-Up" while selecting CDC mode solved.
    • SymphonyII: "Hang-Up" while pressing the '<' key (if time info is <5s) solved.
    • SymphonyII: Track-Selection-Wheel is now supported.
    • SymphonyII: SCAN mode implemented.
    • SymphonyII: Can now be used in the versions "CDC-Emu AJB" and "CDC-Emu Car-PC" without restrictions.
    • Bugfix: In SCAN mode the next track was selected after 9s instead of 10s.
    • Concert I (only Panasonic): CDC Simulator is now also recognised if you switch back from cassette to CDC mode.
    R2.4
    (on-going)
    • Conversion to Atmel ATtiny2313-20 (Atmel AT90S2313-10 not available anymore). Software is fully compatible with HW V1.3.
    • No more support for Audi Concert I radio (due to few demands).
